I Love You Dearly is an indie/shoegaze band based in Montreal who approached me to create a DIY-feeling cover for their latest EP. They wanted something tactile and emotionally raw; a naive, abstracted painting that felt intimate and handmade rather than overly polished.
The final cover balances surrealism and softness, combining hand-painted textures with thoughtful design integration. The result is a deeply tactile, expressive piece that feels personal, dreamy, poetic, and unmistakably human.

Listen Up!
I began by listening to the EP on repeat while painting, allowing the movement of the music to guide the composition. The flowing lines, layered blues, and glowing yellows mirror the dreamy, immersive quality of the songs. Throughout the piece, I embedded subtle symbolism drawn from the lyrics and atmosphere (sitting on the balcony, scattered stars, hidden flowers, a candle burning softly). These small visual moments echo the warmth and nostalgia carried through the record.
